Lövgården Salmon Hut – A fisherman’s and nature lover’s paradise
- “The best fishing spot in Sweden!” Experience the thrill of salmon fishing directly below Jockfall Falls (150 m rapids).
- Great location: close to Kuusamo and Rovaniemi (about 2 h by car), very close to the water.
- Diverse fishing opportunities: fly and lure fishing on the free salmon river (no chum salmon). Fishing permits conveniently available at: https://www.ifiske.se/fi/kalastusluvat-jockfall.htm (350 Skr/day).
- Near the Ängesö River: just a 20-minute drive away – one of the most popular spots for fly-fishing without the traffic jams.
- Salmon fishing season: from late May to the end of August (best from the week before Midsummer to the end of August). Also trout and grayling.
- Guided fishing trips: it is possible to book guided fishing trips with a skipper through us.
- Plenty of space: 250 m² house on three floors, in a quiet village setting, right next to the Salmon River and a waterfall/creek (150 m).
- Accommodation for up to 21 people: 9 bedrooms, each with 2 beds (one with private toilet and shower). Additional beds can be arranged on request. Total of 6 showers and toilets also upstairs.

- Fishing: Fishing opportunities for salmon, trout and grayling right next to the lodge.
- Hunting: good and varied hunting opportunities on Swedish state land (hunting permit 300 Skr). There is also chicken hunting (dog for hire).
- Berry picking and mushroom picking: a great place to collect wild plants.
- Mountain biking: an excellent base for cycling excursions.
- Winter activities: also a great place for skiing, lots of snow! Possibility to see the magnificent Northern Lights!
Also suitable for businesses: an excellent venue for client events. A host is available in the village by appointment.
Location
By car from Helsinki about 890 km. Nearest airport Kemi approx. 180 km, from Rovaniemi airport approx. 210 km. From Kemi railway station approx. 170 km. From Lohimajja it is about 150 m to the Kalix River, where there are good snorkeling spots under the waterfall. Fishing area 10 km long (salmon, trout, grayling, etc.). For those who are interested in the Jockfall waterfalls approx. 200 m .
